hi all

i got my first poly (albino senegal) a couple of weeks ago and he doesnt do anything much, he just sits by some rocks. is there a way of making him less lazy? when i put my finger near him he does not swim off at all, he'd probably let me touch him. does this mean he is ill? he spends alot of the time near the surface even though the water is very well oxygenated, is this another sign of illness? i threw some flakes in to see what would happen and he tried to eat them but found it hard (a sign of illness?) he managed in the end. how cool hes that he's on flakes already.

Heres a pic of the lil guy, bout 10cm/4inches. please excuse the poor photography.

put him on something meatier. He is a poly, he is naturally lazy. Just be glad you don't have a lapradei

he's on bloodworms at the moment and am trying some prawns tonight, i just thought id mention the flake thing cos i thought it was kinda cool. lol and i was told senegals would be constantly searching the bottom for food, ha!

Thanks
Matt

i gor 3 small senegals and what i have noticed is the smallest one about 4 inches don't really do much like yours, but the other two that are about 5 inches are always swimming around.

first week my 2 sens were not active. one spent all his time at the top. the other stayed at the bottom and went to the surface to get air.

i think theyll change. they should. unless you got a lazy sen

"He'll get more active, especially as he gets larger." thanks

hope i didnt get a lazy poly!!

"My big senegal jumps out and takes pellets from my hand..." that is cool :headbang2

would pellets grow him on faster than frozen food, e.g. prawns and bloodworm? do all bichir's movements look really feable or is it just mine. he doesnt often move but when he does its really half assed.

Thanks
Matt
