LDA38 good buy?

So my LFS got a LDA38 juvenile along with L201 and L128. I bought the Blue Phantom but when i showed him a few pics of LDA38 he felt disheartened and how we will not be able to sell it seeing as it was a bit non glamorous

He offered it to me for something like $5. Should i go for it?

A LDA38 is similar to the old common pleco. $5 in the USA is a good price for it. I don't know what that translates to in your Country. Basically $5 is how much the everyday plain pleco costs here(meaning the cheapest pleco you can get).

Ah ok. Well seeing as how he was planning to sell it for $40 i guess $5 is a bit of a steal. But i said no. Need the tank space for a nugget which he says he's expecting.
