Leaf fossile found on a hike? is it real?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They're not plants. They're dendrites which are crystaline mineral formations (manganese oxides or a mix with other minerals) within bedrock (usually limestone based).

If you look around the site, you'll see I've been digging dinosaurs and fossil fish for over 35 years. I also learned about geology and minerology so I can better find outcroppings or dig sites that offer the best chance of finding something.

IM VERY IMPRESSED ODDBALL.

I found something like that at home depot a few days ago, bought it thinking I found a fossil.
