i've got a puzzle. my tank is leaking from the very top trim on one of the corners. odd thing is though it starts at the very top but my water line is about 8'' below that. i see a wet spot starting to form at the base of my stand. this has been going on for about 2 weeks now, but i figured it was condensation. only happens on this one corner. please help.

thanks,

vil.

How about a pic.

Possibly condensation at top and a leak at 8" ? If I understand right.

Could filter leak and cause it?

Water splashing anywhere?

Tape a paper towel 2" below top to catch top leak and see if there are two leaks .

i agree w/ above. can you visually inspect the entire top? culprit may be back splash from a filter return or may its positioned so that i puts water where it shouldn't be (like along the rim of the tank)

the leak starts at the very top, no filters near that corner. i can see white dried water streaks starting at the top trim. the inside corner of the tank is dry. i'll take a picture when i get home.

if there is trim around the top of the tank leak could be from another point (like your filter return) and the water is traveling around the tank under the trim and finally dripping from this point (your tank may not be completely level and this is likely the lowest spot)
