Leaking ultima...

ultima 2000 is leaking through the waste valve while in filter mode. It’s brand new first time use.

Any suggestions?

Check the spider gasket for debris-
See about your warranty-
Add a ball valve on your waste line after the multiport-

Beside the obvious that has been said of returning it, cleaning AND lubricating gaskets and connections

I called the company regarding it - they had me take off the top and look at the gasket - nothing obvious.

They actually were trying to be difficult about the warranty- I made sure I sent it in as soon as I got it. They sent an email that I could return the top piece and they may send another one after they looked at it.
They put in the text that they may assess it to not be worthy of sending me a replacement part and that they might damage the original. Not excited about this company anymore. It was the first time it was used as well.

If you are in an emergency situation, you can borrow one of my 1000’s so you can use existing plumbing and not be without a filter. I can spare a dry 1000 or a cycled 1000 until they make you whole. I dont want to see you lose stock

That’s awesome and amazing of you but no emergency. I just resealed that large acrylic tank through your advice with the tilt and poor method and I thought I was home free and now this, lol.


Again thanks for the offer, and all the guidance. We still need to meet up one of these days - let me know if you ever have any desire to come up to the hood canal.
