I have a used Whisper 30-60 that leaks by the plug it seems to work just fine other than the steady leak. Is this something I can seal? I paid 5.00 bucks for this thing and I'd like to stay feeling awesome about my purchase -any suggestions from my fellow MFKers is greatly appreciated....

is this a serious question? Take the hit to your pride before you get electrocuted or ya burn your place down. Toss it.

If it leaks by the oring on the motor, that's cool, try some lube, a new oring, or if your desperate try some glue. Whisper 60s are nice filters and stupid simple.

If its leaking from the actual spot on the motor where the wires go into the housing, I'd cut my losses and toss it before you get hurt.

On amazon replacement motors are like $13

actually I dunno if I'd even unplug it if its dripping down the cord.

Shut the breaker off to be safe. Electricity and water dont mix. We get complacent in this hobby but its lethal

I think its really just a leak in the reservoir but I can't find any damage to indicate exactly where it originates. yep seems to be an O ring thing (mine doesn't have one)-I'm going to maybe get some silicon? and seal a ring around where the motor meets the bottom of the reservoir. Hopefully that works.
