Knee deep in fish
so ive got 2 large oscars. One of them has a bad eye, and he leans. a lot. I dont think its related to his eye because he doesnt seem to favor one side or another. sometimes he leans almost all the way on his side. Is this just another funny oscar behavior? or a genetic swim bladder defection? The other oscar seems to swim just fine.

I can't say for sure, but mine takes funny positions often. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Does he lean in the direction of his good eye? If so, he may be positioning his body to get a better view of things that pique his interest.

dont worry. i've got 6 all over 11in and they are always doing odd things in the tank. i've got one that sometimes literally sits on the bottom and just watchs everything. he just leans on one of his fins and hangs out....lol

double post

Oscars in general sulk and loaf around on thier side, mainly because they're bored or because they can. *shrugs*. I find it quite amusing when they act that way.

ya mine does that too...and right now he is slightly retarded and picking a fight with a rock....biting it and hitting it and stuff.....i think the rock is winning

My GT does that sometimes too, mostly when I surprise him by turning the lights on, or if he doesn't see me walk in the room until I'm right by his tank.

I think it's his "Hey what the hell you jerk!" response.
