A community sponsor here has some really nice rays labeled as P. Yepezi. Before buying I would like to find out as much as I can about them!

Ive heard they are one of the smaller rays but have yet to see an adult so Im not 100% they are on the small side. Who here has an adult or has had one for an extended period of time and could tell me their rays size and growth rate? Has anyone successfully bred these in captivity?

Im not new to rays so Im not too concerned on how hardy they are, that is unless they are an extremely sensitive ray but so far my research hasnt led me to that conclusion.

Here is a pic. Also from my research I have found that really no one really knows what a Yepezi is EXACTLY but the ray pictured below is commonly called that. Is there more concrete evidence that this ray is indeed a seperate species and not a humerosa morph as some people say?

Any way let the learnin' begin!

Which community sponsor?

Not alot of people know much about Yepezis, but I would really like to get a trio if the price is right.

No one seems to know much about them.

Great looking little rays. The strange part is that they do not seem to be very popular. Several sellers have them available regularly.

Get some and share the knowledge gained. Does anyone have a picture of an adult? I have not seen one.

nice fish cant wait till i can have rays

Nathan sent me some pictures and I wasn't sure what he got. The markings seem like a ray we imported about 3 years back and had similar traites with a tiger and some traits of a yepessi. all together looked like a completely new ray. I beleive it was just a mutant from where it came from but because some of the yepessi rays have a less intense marking that resemble that ray it might be a varient or a mutant yepessi. A good buy none the less for such an awesome ray.
