i have a 5inch juvinal rhom piranha that litterally hides all the time in my one large cave, i have him in a planted tank with a redicluse amount of top plants to attempt to block some light but he still just hides and im pretty sure he just eats at night so what if i just left the lights on for a few days strait would that help to confuse him into thinking he has to come out to eat with the lights on? idk any ideas to get him into comming out? i have some dither red blue tetras and i started with 15 and only have 6 left and im assuming hes eating them at night. any advice? thanks in advance

Keep the lights off al the time and he will come out. He prefers no lights anyway. Fish have no eyelids to close so they actually hate the light.

One Piranha? That fish needs company....a school. Piranha are skittish fish, even in a group. Alone, they will become increasingly more reclusive to the point of not eating and eventually starving to death. If you can get this fish out of the cave with the lights off, the nature of this fish is still very skittish and it will still be difficult to get this fish to "act normal", like other fish.

Im pretty sure rhom are supposed to be alone... Not 100% on that tho

Ignore the above post please. Please research the fish in question before offering advice. Rhoms are pretty much solo.

Give the fish some time. Be patient with the Rhom, and he will come around. Try to get him on shrimp or other frozen fish so he learns to associate you with food.

Opps, someone snuck in a post while I was typing!

Dude not all pirhanas are schooling fish. Maybe its just me but I don't think you should give advice to people unless you know what your talking about....
