leaves turning galssy

why are the leaves of my plants turning glassy? is this a nutritional deficiency?

I am just learning about plant care, but one of the causes could be iron deficiency.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'glassy'.

i mean the leaves are starting to turn transparent. i have eco-complete substrate and dose Flourish 2x a week.

What kind of plants, and how long have you had them?

i have two amazon sword hybrids, one amazon sword, broad leafed ludwigia, dwarf bacopa, crinium natans, a diffferent species of val ( harder to grow ), and brazillian pennywort. i had 2 36" hagenglo fixtures but, decided i needed only one and gave the other one away. the light is right above the plants and the tank is a tall(2') 65g. i have had the plants for close to a month now

What type of light do you have. Post a pic of the swords, as it is likely just the emersed leaves falling off, and you will have new growth coming in.

Mine do that when I am losing a leaf but new ones grow in.
