I'm looking for leaves that i can put into my Amazon tank, also looking to get that nice brown tannins color in my water. any suggestions would me much appreciated!! i think you can get the effect from almond leaves, but not sure if they would fit into the Amazon biotope. Also that blackwater tonic from tetra doesn't stay in the water for more then 2 hours, the filter just filters it out.:irked:

Are you running carbon? Cause if so it will remove the color from anthing you add. What about drift wood that hasn't been soaked much.

yeah i have a lot of drift wood, and the water has a brown tint to it when i do water changes every day in my white bucket, but just doesn't show up to much in the tank, if i cant do anything then I'm not to worried. was just doing some research online and was thinking about using some peat.

get some indian almond leaves on aquabid, work great and look great for a pretty cheap price
