Hey everyone, I have had a 55 gallons tank running for a year now which I bought brand new. Due to upgrading to a larger tank I don't have room for this till probably a year from now when I get a house or what not.

When I take this tank down and store it in my parent's basement for a year, Should I fill it with water during storage or just leave it empty?

I am not sure if either of these options afect the longetivity of the tank? Is the seal going to last longer if I leave it full versus empty?

Thanks!

Clean the tank well before you store it way, nothing worse than trying to clean years old crud from a tank, plus it will be ready to sell if you need to offload it for whatever reason.

I'd just empty it of all the gravel and whatknot and clean it out really well. There shouldn't be any problem leaving it sitting for a year. I've done that a bunch of times. I'd make sure to cover it too though because a lot of dust and stuff can accumulate in a year, especially in a basement or something.
