I've never posted on this forum before though I have been a member for some time.

I am sorry if this is in the wrong section.

2 Months ago I discovered that one of my female Betta had developed a white stuff around her mouth. Well, being stupid as I was, I did not do anything about it. She did survive but she lost her upper lip.

Since it did not kill her I didn't think anything of it until about two weeks ago when I saw that another one of my girls (I have 4) was experiencing the same symptoms.

So, 2 days ago, my only source of fish medication got in Jungle Fungus Clear and I immediately bought it.

When I got home, I added 1 tablet to the aquarium that is 16-20 gallons (not entirely sure the size).

I waited two days and then did a 25% water change and have, earlier today, added 2 more tablets turning the water a slight neon green.

The girls LOVED the bubbles as did the cories (5 of them). They were utterly fascinated and floated near the medication watching.

The 3 Cardinals weren't very happy. I had a Cardinal death two months ago (around the time the mouth rot occured) and had another recent death which leaves me down to those three. Once I have money, I will be adding at least 4 more to the tank.

I also had 3 oto's but two mysteriously disapeared. I never even found their bodies which leads me to believe they were eaten.

As far as I know the aquarium is healthy other than the mouth rot because the 2 Bronze Cory have bred twice.

So here's my actual question! :feedback:

I will be leaving tomorrow morning very early to go to France for 4 days (I live in Germany).

Should I expect to come home to dead fish because I did not change their aquarium water and left the medication in there for too long?

Also they won't be fed as I could not acquire a feeding stone or a food dispenser (I looked). I could not afford 30 euro for one unfortunately.

Thank you for reading this. :)

Try to do a partial water change by at least 25%. Let most of the treatment linger in it for four days. Hopefully, the impact on the other fish will be much less than what may have been since you will be away for four days. Don't feed your fish. If possible, add some plants in there so they can simply eat away the microorganisms harboring the plants as well as allow the plants to consume the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate while you are away. I suggest you use the fast growing ones such as Egeria densa.
