I have 1 BGK, 1 ornate bichir, and 3 ropefish in my tank. Just fed some chopped up (thawed) frozen shrimp. Maybe a total of half of a single shrimp.

The Ropefish ate up several pieces immediately. Being that I just got my BGK and ornate yesterday, I turned off the lights with a few pieces of shrimp left in the tank to help them feel more comfortable.

Question being - is it OK to leave the remaining raw shrimp in my tank overnight, assuming it doesn't get eaten? I did a fishless cycle that could process 4ppm of ammonia in 24 hours, so my bioload was very good.

Also, I assume it's normal for the BGK and ornate to take a bit to settle in before they feel comfortable enough to eat?

I've let shrimp sit overnight before actually a few pieces because I was too.... yah it'll be fine as long as the shrimp doesn't rot and the fish don't consume it it should be fine. I believe another member here fed his bowfin some spoiled food and yep that was that.

I feed a few fish raw shrimp at night. I just check it the next day to see if any pieces are left over. So far they eat all of it so there's nothing to remove.
