I bought my fish tanks well before I landed a dream career of mine. I travel the world and I'm virtually unable to enjoy the fruits of my labor. When I come home it's maintenance on tanks, clean house, pack, leave. How hard is it to sell a 300 gallon tank? What do I do with my fish? I'd like them to have a good home if I do this. A few of the Koi were supposed to go to my ex gf aunts pond but things happened and now i have them.. As much as I really really love the hobby I don't want to neglect them either.

Top tank: 75 gallon, heater, whisp pump, bubble wall, 80-100lbs of fine sand
Fahaka Puffer 6-7"

Bottom tank : 300g, 125g sump tank, built in skimmer, starwars decora, 200lbs of sand substrate, 2x large heaters one for sump one for tank, 4x singular wave generator.

(All these fish have grown up together and aren't aggressive to each other at all and are well fed):
Oscar 8"
Common Jack 5"
Electric Blue Jack 4"
Arowana 10"
3 common plecos 4-6"
4 Koi 4"-8"
Butterfly Koi 6"
Texas Terror 6"
Electric Blue Acara 4"
Convict Cichlid 2.5"
Dojo Loach 7" (This my favorite guy in the tank)
Ghost Knife 7"
Clown Loach 1.5-2"
Blood Parrot 5.5"
Iridescent shark 4"
Sun Cat 6" (full grown) Came with tank

Pic is older but this pretty much what it is. Fish are substantially bigger now...

Sometimes your local fish store will take fish. You could start there. If you think you may return to the hobby later you could sell of the stock and hold on to the tank and equipment for a while.
Craig's list?
Or Post it up here with prices you may be able find a buyer on MFK.

Good move if you were down in Texas I'd take your 300 Gal & everything in it, but you shouldn't have a problem selling it , when you get old & settle down you can get back to it , be safe in your travels enjoy life man.

I talked to my friend that lives with me. He said he's help take care of them and we should get rid of all the koi and reduce the fish down to 1/2 or less, then change the food type. And if it's still a headache then sell.

I'd like maintenance to be down to once a month if possible.. Do u guys think that's a possibility, water changes etc...

I'm going to sell the puffer for sure though. Aside from feeding him I only change his water every 4 weeks.
