Hello,

I've been searching around for a good LED light fixture that houses both daylight LEDs as well as moonlight LEDs for my 60gal.. I've just a couple, but they seem like they're mostly for Saltwater tanks and I really don't want to purchase something that will be too intense for my fish..

Can anyone suggest a good fixture or would an LED setup be a bit over kill for my tank?

Thank you,

Dude, you're gonna have a hard time finding something that's actually bright, not something that's too bright. Really powerful LEDs are NOT cheap, especially when bought in aquarium fixture form and not DIY.

Check out the Marineland Doublebright LED fixtures, sounds about what you're looking for.

I've seen people buy those stringed LED christmas lights and use them, should only be a couple bucks. They make them in blue too.

I was just reading some articles on doing that, I guess I never thought they would have the same spectrum as the LEDs used in aquarium fixtures. I'll have to look at the spectrum for the xmas lights vs the ones used in fixtures.
