I have an open topped cichlid tank...and I'm thinking of adding LED lights to give it a nice shimmer...the tank measures 4' across (2' deep) and I don't want it to over power the fish, since most are amazon fish that don't require much light. no live plants or anything....suggestions?

Beamworks 36 in if it expands out to 48, pretty sure it does it not then the 48 in one

I setup my tank with 6500k compact florescent twisty bulbs. I really like it and they are cheap to run. 18 Watts. But only good if you have a hood. Look up my 450 thread and you can see it.

if the beams are so cheap over there cant hurt! I personally use T8 - LED tubes 6500K I find this gives out a great amount of light for freshwater.
I just picked up one of these for my 90 gallon tank that houses a pair C.Lenticulata pikes. I ordered the 18" 10,000k fixture. So far I love it! Nice color and not too bright.
