i was wondering the dos and donts of led lighting. as of now i am looking into lighting my 530 thats 4 feet tall. Right now it has 2 400 watt MH bulbs. I was looking at the Lighthouse Hydro Aquastar 180 watt LED Aquarium Light. Please
advise me on what to do.

if u search there are probably close to a thousand threads on led lighting. that being said what is your question? dos and donts? dos- spend the cash on led. energy and bulb replacement costs will pay for themselves. for a 5' deep tank id look into some of the "led cannons" from ecoxotic and kessil. what are the other dimensions? are u looking for just light to view fish? grow plants? prefer darker tanks like blackwater srtups? or more light like some african cichlid tank?

ok... did some reading i am trying too spend about 250 buck on one LED fixture. I figure i would need two. what wattage would be enough? I was looking at the cannon lights and i am not to sure if 90 watts is enough from Kessil and the true cannons are pricey.

OK i found what i think would work with my tank. Its the green machine evo 72 inch led light. Any ideas on this before i buy it.
