I have an LED light bar that I am using on my aquarium and it has 2 options; white/blue or white/green. Does anyone have any experience with either of the two effecting the mood of the fish? (more active, less skittish, better coloration). I have Central American cichlids in my tank and was just wondering if there was really a benefit of using one or the other. For the sake of the fish, not viewing pleasure. Thanks in advance.

I don’t know if the color would affect their mood per se. I assume you meant make them calm or excited.
It depends on how bright the light is.
I would think if it’s a dim blue then it may give a night time (moonlight) kinda feel that may relax the fish as if the sun was going down.

If it were a bright white/blue it would probably be like the midday sun for a saltwater tank.

I’m going to say a mix of all the colors is going to give you a more natural white light.

This is all just a guess, because I’ve never seen the light we are discussing.

I know with the led I have I can choose to turn on blues and reds separately from the white and green to mix the color temperature for plants.
