I have marineland double bright on my tank and although bright enough it was a little yellowish. So I decided to test a LES flood light in addition...I think I like it and will order 2 more from eBay...

My question is that the led is 20w, is it okay for the casing to sit directly on top of the acrylic or should I have something underneath it?

I lost sight of the question because I fell in love with the tank.

Are those expensive lights? I still use flourescents and really don't care much for them at all. I can't afford the good led tank lights with the moonlight and daylight settings? I could see using one of those on my 75 and having a good strong light, especcially for photography. Beautiful tank , by the way. My 75 and 30 seem so little compared to most of the other people on this site. But I had to start somewhere!

I would not place it right on the acrylic at all that's the cause of allot of problems the heat is not good for the acrylic. I know it's not much heat but still a bit. Hang it up off a bit.

Lights can be found on Amazon eBay about 40.00 each. 10 Watt lights are cheaper.
