So, Got bored and spent a little money on ebay...bought some led panels and am actually pretty happy with the result....I get the shimmering light on the substrate and the water actually looks clearer than it used to with the flourescent lighting...although i still have a strip i turn on if i want the tank a little brighter...got a 4 pack of panels, but only installed 3 as the 4th had a different ting to the lighting which threw the tank off....these are the all white, but they also sell a 50/50 panel with white and blue led's, which i will probably buy next time i am bored :)

Picture taken during water change to show the light. Tank is 180G

More pics please. Could you also post links to items you ordered from ebay? I am thinking of doing the same thing

So....are you hapy with the light? I have a 150 with a canopy as well. No plants fish only. The pic you posted looks pretty bright...I would like to see a pic with tank filled.

my favorite thing about this lighting is the light refraction you get on the substrate....looks like saltwater with metal halide, not quite as intense, but way more natural looking than flourescent

I have the Eclipse LED 10g right now and the shimmer is really nice.
I have been looking at LEDs for my 55, so thanks for sharing - this helps my search.

Nice and bright too!!
