I have a glass top/standard 48" fluor strip light.

Currently, I have a blue LED spot shining down on a bubble column and looks nice @ night. Classy IMO.

I want to do a little more to spice up my tank, which is a WIP right now, and will have SA cichlids sometime soon.
I love the "shimmering" light effect, and LED lighting is much more common now than even 3 years ago.
My question:
What is the best way to mount/hide any LED spots/strips downward facing with my glass hood and strip?
I want to get that shimmering effect, but I am not sure how to go about it without mounting the lights in front of the strip.

Any advice is appreciated and feel free to post pix and vids for reference.
Thanks
Nick

PS - I am not the best at custom wiring, so plug and play would be the best solution for me.

The closer the LEDs are to the water the less shimmer you'll get. Elevate them a few inches, and have some strong surface current. You'll get plenty of shimmer :)

That's great advice.
Anyone have equipment suggestions? I don't want hokey crap from China, I want something that will last and ideally, smaller the better to mount in tight spots.
Nick
