Led vs. T5.

What would 12 watt's of led light be equivalent to in T5 lighting.

depends what size and wattage of your t5.
Generally speaking leds dont like deep tanks for planted but work very nice for no plants.
I have a planted tank with t5 ho's and i gave up on stopping the algae growth its insane; however my Cichlid tanks with led never grow algae except where sun hits them.
