I rememberd that I found 2 baby turtles and put them in the tank with the Pacus too.You know the silver dollar fish I had. I still didn't know what I had. I had water lettuce, driftwood, and a basking area for the turtles also. It was beautiful to me. After having the turtles for 3 weeks, I noticed strange behaviour from the turtles. The turtles were about 3 inches, pacu about 4-5 inches. One day I put the turtles in the water to feed them like I always had. The pacu always ran or didn't move, but the turtles quckily swam and I mean quickly swam back to the basking area. I inspected the turtles nothing wrong, no injuries I put them down in the water. They did the same thing. I left them alone. The next morning I checked on the turtles. No turtles.They couldn't get out. It was completely blocked. I checked the floors, the rooms, under beds, under dressers, closets nothing. I never even found a shell. Needless to say, some one gave me 3 mores turtles. They said put them in your tank since they knew my turtles were in with the fish. I did not. I believe the pacus ate them. I found no trace of them. I thought if they did eat them a piece of shell would be left behind. Then again, the crew I had was very thorough. If any food was left in the tank after feeding, the next morning there not even be crumb.
