Do you think the scavengers are worth it? You know the loaches, cory cats, and sharks etc. these guys never stop cleaning is all there cleaning better then the extra fish load in a tank? I think so the tanks I have with a lot of good scavengers seem to stay cleaner even with extra fish. What do you think?

It depends if you have gravel or sand. If you have sand, there will be more poop on the sand. If you have gravel, you won't notice a difference, just a bit more nitrates.

i like um anyways, they're so much fun.

But to answer your question- I think mine make my tank messier, b/c without the plec, loaches, snails, etc, the schooling fish would leave no left over food. It's getting them the food that makes a mess. But then, I had danios.. and they eat EVERYTHING, thus the difficulty getting 'scavengers' food.

when you say cleaning all they do is scour the
tank for food and not poo
but as you add more fish you get more poo
but its always nice to see some activity at the bottom

Yes I know they don't eat poo just produce it. That's the question are they worth it. I guess if you have small fish that eat every little bit of food then no. But I have fish that eat bigger chuncks of food and the little bits float around and they pay no attension then the cleaners clean up.
