Lei aro growth rate?

How fast do these guys grow?
Fast like a silver, or slow like a black?
Just wondering as I've got a 30x12x22'' that I'm growing 2x 4'' indos in, and was wondering if I could add a small, 5'' lei.

Once they outgrow the 35, The dats and lei will be moved into a 5-6ft diameter indoor pond.

If this will not work, I can just wait until the pond is finished to get the lei.

I think they grow pretty quick. I bought mine at 1.5-2 inches in late Dec. early Jan.. some where around that time. Now its 5 months later and its at 12-13 inches.

Wow! Thats crazy fast! Whats the diet? I have never seen a Lei in person,
no one sells them. Is there a reason why they're sorta rare?

i bought mine at 4-5" last feb of 2007, now its currently 20" long, 3-4" tall, and like 2-3" thick. beast of a fish, fed nothing but pellets. it wont even touch feeders.

started it in a 60gal, moved to a 150 and its been in there since.

maybe in a smaller tank, and less feedings, growth rate could be reduced. but i was looking for fast paced growth, so i power feed and grow them out in larger tanks for that reason

yeah the lei should get along alright, but in the end its up to the fish.
As for growth, it should grow a foot a year.

heres my lei growth so far . i had him since jan. feeding him pellets(hai feng, grand sumo"red", hikari food sticks, Red discus pellets) and once inna while some krill and shrimp. he was in a 55 gallon for about a week , i took him out because he was getting banged up from the black, so he went into my 125gal and started eating like Animal.

Jan, 3in.

Feb, 4in.

March, 5.5in-6in.

May 25, 8-9in.
