I have always wanted an asian aro after seeing the one my uncle had. Unforunately it died 20 years ago, I have been an aro fan since I first laid eyes on it.

My question is since we can have asians in the US anyone and if you do get one its $$$$$. I was thinking about getting the next best thing. I see that australian aros are simalar to asians, and Jars are way too agressive. I was thinking about getting a Lei, I have a 18in silver right now. And I was just wondering if it would be recommended to add a Lei?

uh dude asian aros are illegal in da US :ROFL:(you meant we cant have em right?) and silver might attack the lei if too small or lei attack it if there around same size could work depends if the fish are aggressive or not and if the tank is big enough

yes i meant can't..... i know someone who smuggles them in, but they are still too expensive.

back to the subject at hand, i though lei are not agressive at all

i have 2 leis none of them are aggressive but i heard ppl say they are like jardinis maybe a little less aggressive, but my leis are barely 7" so they can be mean as they become older

if i put my lei in with my silvers, i think he'd tear them some new buttholes

i attempted to do silver/lei combo when the lei was younger, but even then he tore the silver apart n i had to get rid of it. in the end, it all depends on the fish. but i guess for the worst, as the plan usually never goes as planned

So I guess thats a no go..... I know its a fish to fish basis, but I don't want to risk it.

How about a black and a silver?

i have a 17" silver with a 17" black aro they do fine together for me

having a black n silver is like having a silver n silver.

some silvers don't like 1 tankmate silver. some do. even that mix, is still all on the fish. usually works, but don't count on it. always have another tank ready n running to split them up just in case.
