everyone that I have owned were only moderately active during the daytime, and extremely active at night. They eat same as most cats. I would suggest shrimp, krill for small ones, and blood worms. Silversides. worms, ect. Both that I have owned grew fast to 12" in about 9 or 10 months. Fairly cheap, one I found here in montana was $50, but I had one in NC I bought for $25. So location and how much your fish store wants to cheat you are important in price.

ohh ic...did you feed it at night or in the daytime?
also how big was the $50 and the $25?

The $50 was around 5", and the $25 one was 4", but the more expensive was bought here in montana where there are never any good catfish, and the other in north carolina where I could get just about any catfish I want lol. Darn military. Fed usually after lights out, or early morning. I am a sucker to play to catfish's nocturnal habits. Just turn out the lights turn on a blacklight or night light in the opposing room. It's pretty cool, cept I fall asleep watching them alot lol.

i saw a 3-4 incher for $35 cool cats i wish i had room for one

I am not sure if I have longimanus or mamoratus but mine are around 60cm and will eat anything which can fit in their mouths. They are also quite territorial towards each other. They have wide barbels which extend out to about 50cm wide so they dont miss much.... I had 3 of these in a 10 foot x 3 foot x 3 foot and they had to be separated. They lose a bit of colour when large unfortunately.

This is mine. I brought him home about two months ago as a 4 inch baby and he is now 9inches. I don't go out of my way to get food at him, so that is just normal growth. He is totally quiet all day and at night out and about. Wanna say he would go for about $35. I paid wholesale since I work there and it was a lot less.

Who me?
Mine started getting what the tank got.....krill, earthworms, brine shrimp and blood worm and a couple rosys a week. Hikari sinking wafers, any tetramin dry food that got to him. When I moved him to the 75 gal out of the community 56 he was in at 4 inches (so he wouldn't eat any tank mates). He has krill, earthworms, rosys and goldfish. I would say mostly krill and earthworms right now. BUT he gets a fair amount of food 'cause he shares a tank with other fish and I tend to feed to the lowest common denominator.....namely to the fish that isn't getting as much. I feed the 75 gallon that has a growing Lima Shovelnose(13inches), two 4inch puffers(Palembang and Mekong) a 9inch Needlenose So the Marble gets a fair amount.
