Can these fish live together? do they both eat the same food and grow at the same rate if they are on the same diet? Does any one know of a store in so. cal, San Diego, Orange COunty, L.A. area that sells nice quality of these fish? Any other info would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

umm depending on how many of them are u gona have in one tank. But if ur gona do 1 silver and 1 jar the chances of that most likely wont work out. I suggest u to get at least 3 silvers that r bigger than the Jar. It could be risky but the jars aggressiveness could be changed depending on what u feed him. Give it a try, but i dont suggest u to only have 1 of each in the same tank. good luck! 
i would not mix the 2 if i were you...you will end up losting one and i bet the lei will get killed...
depends on how agro your fish are, people say dont keep 2 silvers together and i did they lasted till they were both over 24" and died due to a power outage.
