LV Golden Knights!
Is it difficult to keep these alive? Was looking online and found a few threads of random deaths, ie jlnguyen's two. Ive kept silvers, jars, and currently have blacks and have not had any problems. Just wanted everyone's opinion before I spend $300 on a 4" lei. I want to keep one in a community tank and am ready to separate it or sell it if it becomes too aggressive.

Pretty hardy as silvers and can keep there place in a aggressive tanks, they are pretty mellowed out arowana's.

That's what ive gathered so far, just nervous about how some just die mysteriously. I will be keeping it with peacock bass and black bar silver dollars of similar size.

I think people just think it is harder because of the price. I think you will do fine since you already have experience.

I had a 3 incher one time. Checked all water parameters after death, it was good. Just die for unknown reasons. I even pellet trained it too at that size. 😢

sorry to hear. I will be super careful with this lei, I grew out a 2" jardini to 14" before I traded it. The Lfs has had it for over a month and I watched it attack and spit out cichlid gold, so it should be pretty stable for now. The owner said it is eating nls, but I will try feeding it hikari food sticks and see where it goes from there. I will be dividing my 150 (72lx20wx24h) for now and the aro should have a section that is 30" in length with the other dimensions being the same. Im planning on growing it out a few inches before adding tankmates.
