Is this possible, has anyone here had any good experiences? I know how aggressive they can be but just wondering if anyone has done it or attempted to.

You can do one Leichardti and 2 or more silver or blacks. I currently have two blacks, an African aro, and one Leichardti in a 120 gal tank. The blacks are 12"-13", the African is 8"-10", and the Lei is 10"-12". I had a 16" Leichardti with five other 18"-24" aros, but they chased him out of the tank  Technically, all aros are same aggressive, but you can always comm them, as long as not two, since they could kill each other 1 on 1. You have better chance if you put more than 3 together. If using silver or black with Lei, make sure they have the same body height, not body length.

With Lei, you kinda have to play by the individual fish. Some fish can take it and some won't.

In the end if the fish can take the abuse out of the lei, the lei will leave them alone.

Currently I have 1 Lei 14", 2 Blacks 17" and 2 Sivlers 12". The silver used to get chased around, but as soon as they hold their ground, the lei leave them alone.

Keep them well fed and healthy and you will be fine..all wounds will heal in no time..

Free tip: :D When you first introduce the aros into the tank, make sure the tank looks new to all of them (re-arrange decoration) Keep the light off will reduce the fighting. Turn the light on 2-3 days later. If you notice fighting, turn light off, and wait for another 2-3 days. They probably won't eat for the first week or two, due to the stress of being with each other, but once they settle down, they'll eat again. Don't be panic when they go off feeding :grinno: and don't be upset when they eat again, since they'll splash a lot :D They love to compete each other for food :)

rofl sucks

there is a public aquarium i think in the uk? or chicago? they have a leichardti community on display with over 10 of them. there was a pic floating around here on mfk. so it is doable, with the right setup

Doable. In fact, as far as I've heard, Lei's are much more comm compatible than say a Jar, WAL, or Micropeltes.

That aside, however, it would be best to have more than 2 aros if you are considering Aussies. A certain number of people in Asia have had success by quelling an Australian Aro's aggression with that of an Asian Aro's and have kept comms successfully.

Just examine your fish daily and see what he's like. Keep a record of his attitude and growth.

Again, I will stress that as far as I know, Lei's are less aggressive when compared to Jars. In fact, I've seen that a number MFKers keeping Leis seem to have other fish with them, judging from pics and descriptions of their tanks.
