1. How big do they grow?
2. How many inches per month do they grow and at what size does it slow down to a stop?
3. Temperament. Peaceful/semi-aggressive/aggressive?
4. Are they illegal in CA? Not that it matters to me, but just wondering.
5. Wheres an online source I can shop around for one or a point to a sponsor on here?
6. How hardy are they?
7. Are they skittish?
8. Prone to drop-eye yes/no? It's one thing that I dont like about aro's such as silvers, its ugly.
9. Tank size? How big for one?

Ill answer the questions I can from my experience, YMMV ;)

2) Mine has slowed down at about 17inches.
3) I would say semi-aggressive, he mainly shows aggression only to the next most dominant fish. The others, even though smaller he just ignores, but gives them an occasional show of dominance with a quick chase.
4)I believe they are legal in CA. Not sure on this one, pretty sure the are legal though
7) They can be a little skittish, but less so now that hes bigger
8)Ive never seen one with this condition

1. about 1 meter (3ft) in the wild
2. growth rate is dependant on how much you feed them, I found it slowed at about 1 ft
3. peaceful unless the other fish is edible or of similar species
4. dont know the laws over there
5. ?
6. pH - 7.8, Hardness (german scale) 12, 24 degrees celcius but these fish are so hardy so dont worry too much about parameters
7. no unless they get an unexpected fright then theyll try jump. cover glass is a must.
8. never seen one with drop-eye and ive seen heaps here in Australia
9. 1000 Litres, but an 8x2x2 will do fine. 6ft is a bit small.

Is this local to you, or is he on the web? I've been searching for a few months.
 
I would go for that in a heart-beat. Id be willing to house em even if we find another source. Looking for one between 5-9 inches.

Sorry let me rephrase #1. How big do they grow in the home aquaria? Wild sizes dont mean squat since they're going in our tanks anyways.:)
