so. cal.
I'm picking up a small Leichardti next week and wanted to know if anyone has much experience with these or any suggestions on keeping them? Any help would be appreciated

i heard that their calmer than jardinis, and feed them pretty much the same as any aro krill, hikari pellets, silversides, prawn, sandeels but be careful not too overfeed just feed until belly slightly bows out and keep a tight lid on your tank----someone with more experience should come around any minute now

They also get bigger than jardini and from my experience have a lot more jumping power. They can really jump hard so make sure that you have strong and heavy covers.

I feed my big guy prawns, whitebait, blood worms and crickets. Some say that they are less agressive than jardini. I dont know about that though. They can be pretty badass. Comes down to luck of the draw IMO.

I find that feeding them more is better. In my case it seemed to have kept him calmer and less agro.

They also need a big tank with more than 2ft width because they will obtain this size. I find that when my leichardti touches each side he freaks and jumps, hence the reason why I am moving him into somthing bigger very soon.

hey steve89 since your from austrailia im hoping you could answer this for me. but whats austrailias policy on the leichardti? is there a reason its more rare then the jardini? thanks

I have no idea why. In AUS jardini actually sell for more than leichardti...

Ill see if I can find out.

how well do you think a leichardti will do with an ATF?

Thanks for the info. I've heard they are less aggressive than the Jardini, I'm hoping this is true. I've also read that they're coloration is better and I think Jardini's have pretty nice coloration. I not sure if I should get more than 1, not sure if they can be kept together in small numbers(2-3).
