I have a 5'x2'x2' tank with 12" Lei, large angels, large discus, and bichirs. The Lei will not bother the discus and angels but he likes to snap his jaw at the bichirs when they go up for air. Is there a reason why? Do you guys think I need another predator fish like datnoid to distract him?

Aussie Aros are very aggressive...i would move the polys and hope he doesnt go after your angels and discus. Adding another calm fish wont solve your problem.
Your lei is not used to seeing bichirs at the top of the tank and might think that the bichirs are invading his territory. =)
He is still at the bottom to middle of the tank but he likes to attack any bichirs who goes up for air. He doesn't care when the bichirs are laying on the floor. This aro is kind of nutty! I think I need a big clown loach or something big in there to keep him occupied.Dragon Hunter;3234667; said:

if your aro hates a fish he isnt going to stop attacking it just because there is a big orange fish with black stripes under him. If anything the clown loach will out compete your bichirs for food which cause another problem(had it happened

what you need is some dithers. get some red hooks or silver dollars they will keep you lei occupied.
If I know how to ship I would sell you the lei or trade for one of your big bichirs.
