So Cal
Just picked up a Lemon Oscar for my first time.
I normally wouldnt get back into the oscar game but this one just hit my interest as I didnt even knew they existed?!
Tried searching myself, but can anyone add any info on them such as if they are as hardy as the normal tiger oscars or get as big?

His body seems in tact and normal, no deformities
Just doing what oscars do the fist night and lye on his side
He will be living in a 75g with 3/4 smaller fish

It looks like its been dyed, unfortunately :( but on the other hand it looks like healthy good looking oscar :)

I highly doubt it was dyed. They are more popular than I thought by a quick google search
And I know the owner of the LFS who was selling a bunch so I would be shocked if it truly were dyed
Thanks

thanks for the info and sharing some pics!
This guy is almost 3" and he will be going into the 75 today, hopefully he will start eating like the pigs they are!
Lets see more pics out there!

At that size, don't be bummed or surprised if he turns orange. I bought a bunch of "lemon" oscars from different places at different times and when they get about 4 to 5 inches long they turned orange, and look like a regular red albino. The one I posted pics of now has a light tint of orange. I'm hoping as he/she gets older the yellow will come back. It hit or miss on getting a lemon. It's hard with oscars, baby's almost always change pattern or color when they get older.
