hi its been a while since I last posted on here but I find myself needing some answers ,so here goes I have been wanting to put a pike in my tank for a while .I have kept pikes a few times over the 40 year I have kept fish sveni, saxatilis, regani, menezesi, lepidota and I have had marmortata ,strigata, this was when I had a lot more tanks .I only have one now which is 72inchx20x20 in it I have 4 myleus schomburgki ,2 myleus luna ,heros rotkeil ,2 geophagus winemilleri,1polypterus delhezi 1 ornatipinnis 1 astronotus ocellatus all fish are full grown, I just been in a tropical shop and they have some lenticulata in so here is the question will one be ok with my other fish thanks for looking rory

as always this is depending on the personality of the individual fish. It should for sure work for a couple of years until the fish gets about a foot long. They can be model citizens but they can also try to take over a tank.
I'd try it and see how it goes

Lents are nasty. Put a lot of cover for the other fish and you might have a chance at it working. Likely, the lents will wear their tank mates out over time and you'll find yourself changing it up in 6-12 months. Lents need robust mates.

thanks for the advice I have done a lot more reading and have changed my mine about the lent I am looking at saxatilis, menezesi,or proteus just got to find some now :)

Menesezi would be too small as adults and may end up being scared and shy with your mates. The saxatilis sound good.

Remember that there are other lugubris type Pikes that can work. Zebrina, acutirostris, and Johanna to name a few. Tapajos can work as well.
