Bought this girl as a lenticulata from ECZS a while back. As she has grown, she has lost all of her spots. I've seen some pics of strigata that look similar. Can anyone confirm which species she is?

Looks more like red backed strigata to me. Very cool fish.

Yeah, I would say mine looks like yours. Are they confirmed strigata? Where did you get yours?

I made a thread here a while back called "Lenticulata!" and it was determined that they were Strigata red back. I bought them as lenticulata a couple months ago from aquabid.

Well isn't that LOVELY! I had one from John over two years ago, but I got rid of it before i moved. Bummer, considering what they actually turned out to be!! Gorgeous!! Its kinda ironic though, cuz the juv. DEFINATELY looks like lenticulata. Gorgeous strigata though! Congrats on raisin it to adult hood! :D

I have to agree with Scat. I have never seen pictures of strigata with two shoulder spots and turned red on the back when matures.

Here is a picture of my strigata

Strigatta for sure. What is that red eyed cichlid in the backround?
