I have read that leo's can be mature at 1.5 years old. That sounds like a reasonable age my male leo looked mature at 15 months old but all rays mature or are capable of breeding at slightly different ages

What I would like to know is how old were your leo's when they bred the first time ?

i dont think it matters much on age.... obviously yours are maturing wayy faster than everybody elses...lol
i think trev and a few others bred around 24mos old.

I have heard from old member lincolngoh that he has seen some CB rays breed at 12-15 months old.

My BD/Leo is over 2 years old and isn't mature yet.:( Although he is showing some clasper growth as of late:) My female classic is 6 months younger and is almost 2 inches bigger than the male and the other female is the same size as male and she is 5 months younger than the male also.
But have been wondering of late if it is possible that my mature male marble isn't releasing hormone growth inhibitors into water which could be slowing down my blackies maturing process.

Looks mature to me. My male p14 isnt quite a year yet and his claspers are already growing.

My male leos were breeding at just over 1.5 years old. The earlyiest i could get my females breeding was 2.5 to 3 years old. All my breeders were CB

I think they mature faster if you have a female that's mature in the tank
