Is it a good deal to get a lepard gecko from my friend for free? there is a reason its free, its super aggressive bitting him whenever he tries to hold it... Is there something I could do about this like train it?

I have never heard of a leopard gecko biting and I cant imagine it hurting even if it did.
I would get it....

take the free leo and just take your time with it working in tank and letting it see you, and your hand and let him/her get use to u and slowly over time pet the lizards without picking it up and repeat until the lizard shows no signs of aggressions and start to handle easily start 5 minutes at a time and work your way up till you can hold it for a half hour

Maybe its your friend that has some issues, not the gecko! Dont forget specialy younger geckos think we are giant predators, people get inpacient and thats what happens. If he is healty go for it. It will setle down

I agree, I'd definitely take it.

Leopard geckos are cake to train as long as you work with them. Work with him daily and you won't be dissaponted.

+1 how does your friend handle it, my brothers red tail boa was mean to but that was because he would handle her roughly when he was drunk, when i handled her she was super chill, as long as it looks healthy i would get it and just take your time, from what iv read leos are super chill so it should warm up to you in know time once it realizes you arent a threat

There's no better price then free! Sometimes people and lizards just don't get along. haha.. Best of luck to you!

well he never handeled the thing after it bit him which was like a year ago. I have a few questions that could result in me getting it or not
1) whats the possibility of getting a disease like salmanilla from it?
2) are they poisonous if i do get bit?
3) does their enclosure ever smell?
4) when do I clean the enclosure?
5) what do i feed it? like superworms mealworms vegggies?
6) how expensive would it be to run its setup? heat lamp ect
7) would i be able to handle it?

leos are fairly low-maintenance, risk of salmonella is extremely low, im not even sure if leos carry it, but just dont stick the leo in your mouth and you will be fine lol, and no they arent poisonous, as long as you keep the cage clean they wont smell like a ferret does or anything like that. just need to spot clean its poo and stuff and every couple of months give the tank a good wipe down, and just make sure you keep their water bowl clean, can feed mealworms or crickets, insects will need to be gut loaded and dusted with vitamin supplements, wouldnt be very expensive at all, all you need is the heat lamp or even just a under tank heater, if you have a fish tank of any good size at all which you probably do if that is your pleco in the avatar then you can def handle a leo
