Not sure if this is the correct place to post. Does anyone have any experience with these guys I might pick one up pretty soon for my 55. would they work with green sunfish

I don't forsee any problems. The different ones that I kept seemed to ignore other fish as they went about their business.

they are awesome little fish, but they only get to be around 6" while your green sunfish can get quite large, I have caught one that was 17" long

The only fish that my Ctenopoma did not get along with was a Silver Dat. As long as the sunfish does not attack the Ctenopoma there should not be a problem.

what about them with bichirs and eels

they're fine with bichirs and eels but your green sunfish will most likely try to make them a snack

mine gets along really great with all his tankmates, no problems. i've had trouble getting him to switch to any sort of pellet food, but they love hunting feeders, and of course delight in bloodworms. they will change color depending on their habitat- i had mine in a brown river tank setup for a while and he was ugly brown. i rearranged the tank, added rocks and bright green leaves and white sand and he turned into a lovely bright green leopard. i had a bluegill sunfish that terrorized the hell out off him till i moved the sunfish out of the tank. i'd watch out for the sunfish's aggression for sure~

I love mine! He became the favorite in my tank real quick. I liked him so much I bought a second one, which was a little bit smaller but not by much, but still turned out to be a bad idea as the larger one was very dominant over the smaller one. I had to remove the smaller one from the tank.

It had zero issues with my Black Arowana, however, it had plenty of stand offs with my Leaporinus. They never had an all out battle, just the stand offs.

Their mouth is huge. Small feeders disappear quick and if you dont break up the frozen bloodworm blocks they will eat it in one snap. They don't seem to bother with any flakes I throw in the tank. They down the flowerhorn pellets, bloodworms, feeders, and other meaty stuff.
