So I was in petco today and ended up walking out with a tadpole. I've always wanted to raise one so it wasn't a complete impulse buy... Anyway I'm fairly sure it's a leopard and hopefully someone can confirm it. I can see little leg stubs starting to come out now so how long will it be before he's completely morphed and when will he need to start getting out of the water? Right now he's in my lightly planted 27 gallon community tank that has 4 guppies, 1 gold ram, 1 bn pleco, and 6 kuhlis so nothing should be bothering him. I'm going to set up either a 10 or 20 gallon half filled for him tonight with some driftwood coming out of the water and a couple plants.

I believe that's a bullfrog tad, that's what petco usually carries ,I raised a similar one and it turned out to be a giant bullfrog haha

Oh wow I thought bullfrogs had a darker tadpole but after checking google images I'm positive you're right. I'm actually really excited about having a bull frog haha. How big are they right when they become a frog? And how long does it take them to get huge?

They grow pretty quick ,and get huge lol ,but when they turn into a frog they're the size of the average adult frogs you find in creeks out in socal haha they're worthy of monster status , just hope you don't get a really vocal one haha the sound the make can be heard from farrrrrrr away lol good luck raising the little guy , lol well not little .. But anyways I'm subbin to see how it turns out

Thanks guys I'll probably make a new thread to document growth. I'm going to get a 10 gallon set up for him for now until I can pick up a 20 long from a friend. He's really calmed down now, at first he was doing a lot of spazzing out but hes chilled out and i think i saw him nibbling on a flake. Do you guys feed flakes to tads or is there something else i could get?
