I currently have a 55 gallon and was looking for a couple small plecos for it. I ended up getting 1 albino BN pleco and saw the leopard pleco as well. After being assured that it wouldn't get that big I purchased it. Of course after doing some research after the fact I found I ended up with a Leopard Sailfin that gets rather large. I'm not able to take it back to the store, plus it's really cute, it's still small being 3-4" right now, so I'm going to keep it in the 55 gallon, until I get the new tank in the spring. Now onto my questions:

1) will a 120 gallon tank be big enough when it is full grown or should I go with a 125? I've seen various websites say different things, like from 80 gallon to 125 gallon so I want to make sure I get a big enough tank.

2) what would be good tank mates? I'm wanting either a semi-aggressive tank or possibly some cichlids since the pH from my tap is around 8.2.

any suggestions would be great!

A pic to 100% confirm the ID would be nice, I've seen sailfin up to 21 inches and have heard reports of 24 inches for one. Bigger tank is always better.

Sorry for the crappy pics, I was trying to snap a few before he went back into hiding, so they are a little blurry.
