i caught a leopard shark in the bay and i was wondering if i could use it as food for my rtc, peacock bass, pacu, and oscar. any one have ever tried this before?

you should have released it back in the sea. that's too much as fish food.

Did you bleed it immediately after you caught it? My main worry is that sharks have a lot of uria in their tissues so when you feed it to your fish your water quality is going to get very poor very fast, thus endangering your fish. I wouldnt risk it.

Leopard Sharks arent protected but they are too much of a hassle to worry about keeping IMO.

:iagree:

Isnt there enough needless shark killing going on?People are already cutting off shark fins just for a bowl of soup which kills the shark and now you want to use them for fish food.

in my area leopard shark are very common. people cook it and eat it. fishing in the bay you could get a sand shark, leopard shark, 7 gill shark. be specific great white are the only endangered species i think.

Even if you bled it immediately then soaked the flesh in freshwater it might still give your tanks that nose hair curling, slightly metallic, essence of urinal cake aroma. I really really hate the smell of dead shark.
