What makes a Leopoldi a "Black Diamond" Leopoldi? Does the number of dots determine whether a Leopldi is simply called a Leopldi or Black Diamond?

Thank you for your replies!

black diamond is a different variant to leopoldi in my eyes

black diamond have belly spotting much whiter spots much blacker base colour blue eyes spots that go over the tail spikes more spots around the disk edge

I'm wondering the same thing. I have seen a true black diamond before where the spots are snow white, but recently I've been seeing regular leopoldi's being passed off as BD's where their spots are yellowish. I'm confused...

Yes, my impression was black diamonds just had way more spots, including a "chain-link" around the edges, thus the classification as black diamond.

Eclipse rays, on the other hand, are leopoldis whose white spots have black dots in the center.

Just my observation. Hope you guys can confirm/ clarify.

Thanks!
