any info on these fish would be great, currently he's in a tank with the ph 8.0, think it's to soft, or will he be ok, single fish in a tank by himself, the guy i got him from had his tank at ph8.0, my tank is at 78F, his was at 74F, am i atleast on the right track? sorry, i'm a sa/ca guy, just saw this fish and had to have him.

ph is fine as long as it's consistent. They are cool fish that will eat anything that will fit in it's mouth. Very aggressive with conspecifics but very tolerant of other fish. I've kept them with large calvus, fronts, etc. Most tankmates are fine as long as they are not too small and have similar dietary needs....lotsa protein!
