Got a lung in the other day and Im going to say its a south american beacuse the pelvic and pectoral fins are very thin...unlike the africans, and we know its not an australian (we wish right?).

Anyways...we have had the guy in tank now for probably a week. He seems to be very lethargic, and even when I add food he doesnt really move. Whats up?

Could someone describe ideal keeping methods for these animals? Now that it is in my lab I cant miss a beat, it was sort of a spur of the moment aquisition, and I didnt even really know we were getting it. What do I have to do to keep this guy healthy?

Their care is nothing special. Stable tropical temps, clean water, food (mine eats pretty much anything floating or sinking), some hiding places, that's about it.

He is not an aggressive feeder at all. Wont even move if I slightly disturb the cave he is in. He is in a 60g tank by himself that is filled about 1/3 of the way.

Have given him chopped up fish (which has disappeared so I assume he ate it), and some little feeder fish.

Will try to add some floating cover soon.
