Leporinus friderici ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Come on guys.. I know one of you fishheads have heard of the species. Someone may even be harboring a huge colony of them in a back room..

I googled it and came up with a tiny bit of info on it. About 40 cm long, I guess not common as an aquarium fish.

bracti- Thanks, but I pulled that much off fishbase too. I've seen the banded headstander in a few fish stores, but never a L. frederici- guess I was hoping that someone here would know something about them.

M|L, I didn't see your post at first. What are you feeding him on? How much has he grown in the 2 years? Maybe a pic if you have one? And of course your address if you want that cookie. :-)

i actually sold it a long time ago.

but he fed on everything i throw in the tank... pellets, shrimp, worms, you name it.

i kept it with a fly river turtle and it'd nibble on the turtle and kept the turtle's shell very clean. :D

Not sure if either picture is even a friderici. The pics on fishbase look way different, but that could be for any number of reasons.

Druu, if you go by that website you'll get pictures like this

Doesn't look like a Nimbochromis livingstoni to me :screwy:. I have several + fry and I don't believe any of them have stripes :grinno:

Good look finding correctly labelled pictures of Leporinus species online, it seems like an exercise in futility, lol.
