Guys/Gals,

Just wondering how everyone's elongota's are doing, and how everyone is keeping them?

My pair are doing well, looking great. It's weird because one has stripes, and the other doesn't. They are about hte same size I figure around 4-5 inches?

Water temp is 67f right now, and they are eating bloodworms, and finely chopped smelt. Both are soaked in a vitamin solution.

I cant get them on pellets for some reason. Also I have to have the food moving in order for them to take it. I use a baster to blow the food around, and they go for it, but if I let it just settle on the bottom, they ignore it. O well. So what have your exp. been so far?

Thanks,
Chris

How big of a tank are they in? The water seems kinda cold so maybe that has something to do with there activity.

Mine is around the 4" mark and eating worms, shrimp and i just got him eating tetra granules! They do seem aggressive! And dont like anything in there territory. Mostly come out when the lights are out unless theres food in the tank. When they move the MOVE fast!

Mine are in an 8'x4' tank. The temps are cool, I am trying to keep them as close to natural as possible at this point. Maybe Ill turn it up after awhile.

That is a big tank for them. good luck! I think its going to be harder to feed in a tank like that but keep us updated and try earthworms, those are a favorite. (BTW, i got 3 L.E.'s)
