Let there be SAND!

Hey guys, I just visited a local gardening shop and found out that a sack of sand costs just about 2$ per sack. and whats great about it was it was like boracay (google it!) sand! very powdery and very white! without hesitation i bought 4 sacks of sand and converted my used to be pebble tanks.

well, it turned out quite a work to rinse em but never the less, i pulled through....

i think you can guess what comes after the sands!!!!
RAYS! i'll get one as soon as i sell one of my guitars!

awesome dude... i been onto sand for the last 2 years and find that my tanks are much cleaner for it... theres no space for detritus to get caught in... and siphoning takes a little getting used to but is worth it

Please share the sand vaccing tips and tricks so we can all learn. I have vaccing my sand its hard.

I just put the end of the hose in a bucket, which is in the tub. (outside/in the sink etc work too) and then I don't worry about accidentally sucking up some sand. Just rinse what collects in the bucket and return it to the tank.
