back when i was taking a break from the hobby (just after the gulper catfish/datnoid/azul pbass craze was dying down) there were quite a large number of people on here starting bumblebee grouper craze...i even have an old mfk sticker with a bumblebee grouper front and center and other fw monsters around it.
The thing I found curious at the time is that the groupers were being sold as 100% fresh water and thats what everybody was buying them for; fw tanks. This was supported to a degree by said sticker with the depiction of the bumblebee grouper surrounded by other purely fw monsters. Indeed one of our few members with a tank actually large enough to house one was considering getting one, I recall.
This eventually led to controversy over whether or not bb groupers could survive indefinately in water, which ended with those people who purchased them saying, essentially, that we will just see what happens.
I found the whole thing very intriguing and, since its been about 5-6 years, would like to see what has become of the few dozen bb groupers which were going to be kept in fw tanks.
I want to see some bb groupers with aros and pbass
